Transformer Jazz

“Doing it with style or don't bother doing it”, Jazz's motto, can be used as a generalisation of his character. Calm, Self-possessed, very stylish and highly competent are the other words. Head of the Special-Operations, he often gives himself the most dangerous assignments and projects, not due to ego but because he is truly the one most suited for those missions that require level-headedness.

All these and many more qualities make Jazz the undisputed and efficient right-hand bot to Optimus Prime. He has his trademark ultra-visors which have been synonym with him throughout the series. Due to some problems with trademarking, Jazz has come to be known as Autobot Jazz in later releases. He remains one of the best loved and remembered characters from the 1st Generation Transformers series.

His original form in is a Martini Porsche 935 Turbo racing car. Equipped with a fusion engine, he is able to reach sub-light speeds in this mode. In the 2007 Transformers live-action film, Jazz is portrayed as a robot with a passion for style combined with a hip-hop personality. He was seen doing sleek dance moves in his first scene. Here,Director Michael Bay made Jazz's alternate mode as a super sleek and stylish silver/gray hardtop Pontiac Solstice GXP.

His weapons include ashield-mounted machine gun and shield. He is also equipped with a type of electro-magnet in his right arm. This is used to disarm humans off their weapons but strangely, did not affect jewellery and electronics. In that particular film, Jazz died towards the end of the movie after being ripped into half by the evil Megatron. It was definitely a moment of melancholy, especially for die-hard and long-time fans who have come to know Jazz since the very beginning. However, he is said to be resurrected in the upcoming sequel.
